Play vs. Movie

after reading the play & then watching the movie,
i think reading julius caesar beats watching it by far.
in the movie, they talk too fast,
so half the time you dont really understand what's going on.
& the actour's facial expressions aren't as good as they should be,
especially since this is shakespeare we're talking about.
if you read the play,
not only do you develop a sense of the depth of the characters,
but also how they relate & react to one another.
in the movie, you can't SEE what they're saying,
so you don't recognize the writing devices that shakespeare uses
to emphasize majour points.

what i think of shakespeare....

[Thou hath] not so much brain as ear wax.

shakespeare takes dramatic stories, with meaningful morals,
& writes them in a way that everyone can relate to.
either in a way that is funny or depressing.
many people dislike him,
for some apparent reason.
it maybe that his word choice is confusing & hard to follow,
or that it maybe that his audience isn't educated enough to fully understand his writing.
shakespeare, in my opinion is just short of a genius.
he wrote his plays in order to honour people,
not to make money, or benefit him in any way.
his love for the theatre was radical & inspired many people.
back in his time, performing was done differently,
so the scripts had to be written with plenty of emotion & expression
since props & costumes weren't as elaborate as today.
